Sustainability has been a top priority in PRINCE2® since the new edition 7. We are not only talking about sustainability currently perceived by the general public in connection with the environment & climate, but also the consideration of social, economic and ecological aspects. Projects should be designed in such a way that they make a positive contribution.
Introduction of sustainability as a seventh performance aspect
Traditionally, project management focused on six key performance aspects: benefits, costs, time, quality, scope, and risk. PRINCE2® 7 breaks this conventional framework by introducing a seventh aspect — sustainability. During the entire project life cycle, the sustainability aspect becomes an important control parameter. This shift encourages project managers and stakeholders to consider the impact of their actions not only on immediate project outcomes but also on wider sustainability goals.
Integrate sustainability into all practices

For example, in the “Organization” chapter, the sustainability goals of suitable people in appropriate roles are taken into account.
