Are IT projects getting out of hand? Are project costs shooting through the roof? Are schedules slipping?
Failing projects are not only aggravating and wearing on the nerves, but are also expensive mistakes which can have a negative effect on the organisation’s business processes. Whether you are introducing new tools, integrating different applications or optimising internal processes, IT projects emerge every day and need to be implemented transparently, rapidly, and smoothly.
Internationally recognised approach
PRINCE2® (PRojects IN Controlled Environments 2) is an internationally recognised approach to project management created by the OGC which has proved itself in practice over the years. It provides specific practical guidelines, process descriptions, assignment of roles, document templates and techniques, to allow projects to be conducted in a structured, efficient and successful manner. Transparency and clearly defined responsibilities are defined as best practices in the PRINCE2® project management approach, ensuring that everyone involved in the project is aware of their specific tasks and objectives.
A project is guaranteed to run to plan when it is broken down into individual phases, and when its status is regularly controlled in each phase. Problems and delays can be recognised early on and dealt with immediately.
The outcome? A project that performs in line with the client’s requirements!
Managing projects effectively and efficiently is a difficult undertaking – but something that can be achieved with the right approach!
PRINCE2® (6th edition) – What is new?
The PRINCE2® (6th edition) puts a stronger emphasis on scalability and flexibility. While PRINCE2®’s familiar structure of principles, processes and themes remains essential, the 6th edition focusses even more on tailoring project management methods to individual business needs and a varied range of project environments.
AXELOS has also launched new Foundation and Practitioner examinations. See detailed information about the new examinations unter the exam & certification tab of your training.
The new PRINCE2® Practitioner (6th edition) as well as the PRINCE2® Agile Practitioner Certificate are valid for three years. After three years, candidates may repeat the Practitioner / Agile Practitioner exam to extend the validity of their certificate. The option of a PRINCE2® re-registration exam no longer exists. As an alternative to repeating the exam, AXELOS offers the possibility of a PRINCE2® membership subscription in order to maintain the validity of the certification. Further information can be found here.
